This registration session will allow you to complete contact information, sign up for participation, and submit payment.  Please read through each page carefully to ensure that all information is provided accurately.  To complete registration through our secure site, please have your Visa or MasterCard information available.

SYHA's instructional program has numerous instructors to provide as much one-on-one attention as possible to get your children up on skates and moving around on their own.

For the 24-25 season, SYHA has revised the LTS/LTP programming format.  For the first time this year, families will  be required to sign up separately for the LTS and LTP programs.  There is also a new Buzzer League program for those players whose abilities in both skating and hockey have reached the appropriate level.    Entry into the Buzzer League program is by invitation only.  Please read below for details.  This year's program will be held at the Veteran's Memorial Rink in Somerville.  

ALL LTS REGISTRATIONS INCLUDE: 

• Knowledgeable instructors – includes SYHA coaches and players as well as players from Somerville High School.
• Weekly skating lessons start kids off with "crate skating" to help them work their way to independent skating.  Classes are each 70 minutes long and divided by age/ability.
• LTS skaters will be grouped on the ice based on their age/ability.   As children develop proficiency in their skating skills, they will be moved to the appropriately skilled group.  
• Once kids have mastered basic skating skills in LTS, they will have the opportunity to skate in the LTP (Learn To Play hockey) class, also 70 minutes long, where they will learn the fundamentals of hockey including passing, shooting, puck handling and more.  Additional fees apply.

ALL LTP SESSIONS INCLUDE:

• Knowledgeable instructors- includes SYHA coaches and players as well as players from Somerville High School.
• Weekly lessons include the fundamentals of hockey - passing, shooting and puck handling as well as additional skating skills.
• Once kids have mastered a sufficient level of hockey skills in LTP, they will have the opportunity to participate in the Buzzer League session.

BUZZER LEAGUE SESSIONS INCLUDE:

• Scrimmaging and intra-league/in-house hockey games.
• Buzzer line changes to help players start to learn about and participate in the "line shifts" they will need to know if they continue playing hockey 
• Scrimmages will occur on either cross-ice or half-ice 
• Participation in the buzzer league is by invitation only.

FULL LTS/LTP SEASON:  11/02/2024 - 03/01/2025 (18 sessions)

HALF LTS/LTP SEASON #1:  11/02/2024 - 12/28/2024 (9 sessions)

HALF LTS/LTP SEASON #2:  01/04/2025 - 03/01/2025 (9 sessions)

 
Tuition: 

Full LTS -- $200.  

Full LTP - - $200.

Half LTS or LTP Season (either 1st or 2nd session) -- $125.  

Buzzer League:  $150 (by invitation only)

Schedule:    (Saturday mornings)

Learn to Skate:  8:00 - 9:10am

Learn to Play:   9:20 - 10:30am

Buzzer League:  10:40 - 11:50am (By invitation only)

If you are not sure if your child is ready for the LTP class, please register for the LTS program and feel free to consult with the LTS coaches during the first few weeks of the program, to determine if your child can be moved to to the LTP class. 

Similarly, if you would like your child to participate in the Buzzer League, please register for the LTP program and feel free to consult with one of the LTP coaches during the first few weeks of the program to see if your child can be invited to participate in the Buzzer League, in addition to continuing in the LTP program.   

Buzzer League registration is by invitation only.  Fees for this program will be processed via a separate invoicing process.

Financial Aid is available to families.  You can opt-in for assistance during this registration process.  Somerville Youth Hockey is offering this program at $50 for the full session, and $25 for either half-session.  This is an automatic award, no application required.   Reduced pricing is available at checkout.  If you need additional accomodations beyond the financial aid listed above,  please email us.
